Because "correcting" myself doesn't make me "better". It just makes me cranky.
I have tried to be my better self, so to speak, in many ways. Tried to be "a better person”, “a better Lori”. I have tried to “fix myself” - that was a damned disaster, which is as it should be because we don’t need “fixing”; that’s the wrong perspective. That’s a self-punishing perspective.
There’s also the idea of trying really hard to do things differ…
